Cyclo pick up from your hotel, our guide and cycling drivers will lead you through the nice parts of Hanoi, old town, French villas areas.... then we will be on our queue to visit Ho Chi Minh and his whole complex, you will learn a lot from visiting his Mausoleum, Presidential Palace, his residential place.
We will be traveling next by van to the Temple of Literature – the place of the first University and temple for Confucius in Vietnam.
Lunch will be followed after this visit at a local restaurant for Pho of Hanoi.
Hanoi is also a home of many interesting museum, we suggest you visiting the Museum of Ethnology or at your agreed choice to another one inside the city.
Walking in the old town of Hanoi can be hard for some bodies but it is with lots of fun and you can really see Hanoi its local styles.
Our last thing for today is to enjoy the very nice show of water puppet, this will shows you lots of Vietnamese traditional customs and cultures. Tour ends here.

Day 1: Arrive in Hanoi
Airport pick up and transfer
to central Hanoi. Free time to explore Hanoi old quarter while your guide unpack
bike box and build up your bike. Short bike riding around the old quarter to
make sure that your bike works well. O/N PhanThai hotel.

Day 2: Hanoi to BacCan – BaBe National Park ~54km (B,L,D)
Morning transfer 4 hours from Hanoi to ThaiNguyen and up hill to BacCan. We have lunch break in BacCan, then transfer a bit more to PhuThong where we start cycling off road 54km to BaBe national park. Villages of Tay and Thai on the opposite of the river. Make sure you turn left at ChoRa junction market town and continue 17km to BaBe national park (alt. +240m) . O/N BaBe national park guesthouse.
Day 3: BaBe - NguyenBinh - TinhTuc - BaoLac ~ 60km (B,L,D)
Morning bus excursion 1hour
to HaHieu, then we start cycling through forest of Mt. PiaOac to NguyenBinh,
this is a very old bumpy road through forest and many villages of the Tay
people. Many mt. passes to go, the most challenge one is PhiaDen +1200m. Late
afternoon we have bus transfer to Baolac for the night. O/N BaoLac People
Committee GH.
Day 4: BaoLac - BacMe - HaGiang ~ 80km (B,L,D)
Good paved road along Gam river, very nice scenery between BacMieu and BacMe. Picnic lunch en route. Late afternoon bus transfer to Hagiang town (alt.+156m). O/N KhanhHuyen hotel.
Day 5: HaGiang - Heaven gate pass - HoangSuPhi ~60km (B,L,D)
Morning transfer 1hour by
bus to TanQuang (alt.+120m) where we turn right and start cycling up hill to the
mountain again. Best mountain view today, challenge 60km climb through 2 "heaven
gates" pass to HoangSuPhi town. First gate is 19km climb to alt. +815m, then
going little down, then climb up to second gate at alt. + 895m. Then start going
down further 21km to HoangSuPhi town. O/N HoangSuPhi. (+460m) . HoangAnh GH.
Day 6: HoangSuPhi - XinMan - BacHa ~100km (B,L,D)
We climb up 5km right outside the town, then continue 40km along the Chay river to XinMan, quite easy flat road. Please keep up with the main route, can take photos along the way, but do not turn into any village along this route. At the point 11km before Xin Man, there is a turn right sign 26km to China border. After XinMan town, we climb up 17km to summit of alt.+1,460m, then continue 43km up and down hill to BacHa. This is totally a new road – built on the former trail of the flower Hmong tribes. O/N SaoMai hotel in BacHa (alt.+920m )
Day 7: Saturday Market, LaoCai - Sapa ~ 60 km (B,L,D)
An interesting day with shuttle bus to visit CanCau Saturday market, see a market day for all tribes: Tay, Nung, Dao, Flower H’mong, Giay, PhuLa etc… Afternoon cycling down hill 20km and onto PacNgam at highway 70. Bus pick up, transfer to LaoCai town, then start climb up 35km to Sapa town. (alt.+1,550m ). O/N at the luxury Victoria Sapa hotel. **** http://www.victoriahotels-asia.com/txt/hotels/sapa/index.php
Day 8: Sapa - Heaven gate - TamDuong ~80km (B,L,D)
Best mountain view today, about 1 hours up hill, with a stop over Silver waterfalls for relax before we conquer the highest mountain pass Oquiho (+2,010m) . Then decending down the great panoramic view of HoangLienSon mt. range. Lunch en route. Nice villages of Hmong and “coins” Dao near BinhLu. We take a dirt road 30km through villages of Dzao and Lu tribe to TamDuong. O/N at PhuongThanh hotel in TamDuong.(alt.+ 945m)

Day 9: TamDuong - Paso - LaiChau ~112km (B,L,D)
Some part of the road is still in construction, but great view along NamNa river. At point 8km before LaiChau, there is a turn right to MuongTe, remember to keep on straight to LaiChau. You will see the scenic Da river from HangTom suspension bridge before entering this small town. O/N Lan Anh hotel in LaiChau. (+ 200 m)
Day 10: LaiChau - DienBien. ~ 105km (B,L,D)
A nice long day ride with stop over the Red H’mong village before climb up to Mathiho pass (alt.+895m), HuoiChan pass, CoChay pass (alt.+845m). O/N MuongThanh hotel in DienBien town (alt.+480m)
Day 11:
DienBien - TuanGiao ~ 80km (B,L,D)
Bus sightseeing back to the former French battlefield : A1 hill, DeCastries bunker etc.. . You will see some old US weapons here too. Then we have easy ride 80km through many Thai villages to TuanGiao (one climb mt. pass 15km outside DienBien). O/N People Committee GH in TuanGiao (alt. +590m).
Day 12: TuanGiao - PhaDin pass - SonLa ~ 90km (B,L,D)
Challenge 20km winding climb up Phadin pass (heaven and earth pass) to summit of +1450 m and 15km down hill. Nice landscape of green rice fields and karst valley. Light traffic, wandering water buffaloes, Thai and Hmong kids. o/n Trade Union hotel.
Day 13: SonLa - MaiChau ~ 120km (B,L,D)
Short transfer 1 hours to YenChau where we start riding down hill to MocChau. Stop over XaLinh for visit a green Hmong village. Late afternoon arrive in MaiChau. O/N homestay on stilt house of Thai tribe.
Day 14: MaiChau - Hanoi (B,L,D)
Morning free at leisure promenade around Thai villages, shopping local handicraft etc.... until lunch time. Afternoon departure for Hanoi. Farewell dinner in Hanoi. O/N Camellia hotel.
