Soft adventure to visit the hidden SaPa
Sapa is a beautiful former French hill-station, at an altitude of 1,650m this town boasts warm days and cool evenings. Nowadays it is still a popular destination due to its beautiful scenery of the mountain and the valleys surrounding and moreover Sapa are home to several Vietnam’s 54 ethnic minority groups, each with their own distinctive dress, customs and dialects. Sa pa is also renowned for its trekking. With Vietnam’s highest peak, Mt. Fansipan (3,143m) provides the perfect backdrop for some great treks. Some of the villages now have local homestays where you can overnight with a family in their traditional home. So check out these offer to leave only footprints and take home abundance of fun memories. Here is the option of 3 days Sapa with 2 days trek and homestay:
Route: Hanoi – Sapa – Hanoi, by nite train
Duration: 3 days 4 nights
Highlight: Stunning trek and homestay at the traditional house of minority people.
Trek: Easy to Moderate
Leave your hotel at 8.30 pm Thursday for train to Lao Cai, 7 hours on train, arrive around 6.30 am.
Friday: Lao Cai – Sapa –trek to Ta Phin (12 km ~ 4 hours)
Arrival by 6.30 a.m. Met by our driver, who is taking you to Sapa town (1,5 hrs). We arrive in Sapa town, you will be taken to have a shower break before your breakfast at this hotel.
Our guide will meet you (8 a.m), to arrange trekking (start time, food.....). We drive about 15 mins North of Sapa, then start trekking. We visit the H’Mong and Dzao on this trek, meeting, talking to them at their houses.
We arrive into our homestay around 4 p.m. Please expect the homestay simple and with our guide, we will get some cooking lessons and enjoy local food with the family. Sleep in their traditional house. (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner are included)
Saturday : More trek and back to Sapa
More trek in the morning, we have two options for this day, one with 1 hours walk and the other is 3 hours, with both we will need jeep transfer back to Sapa.
Lunch on your own in Sapa. Your free afternoon for relaxing, shopping or with our guide to explore more hidden parts of Sapa. Overnight in hotel in town. (Breakfast included)
Sunday: Sapa – Bac Ha Sunday Market - Hanoi ( 8 hrs on train)
Leave Sapa in the early morning by Jeep for Bac Ha, this will take 3 hours to get to visit the market. Here is one of the most busiest markets of the Northwest region with a lot of minority people on their activities of swapping, buying, selling, meeting, eating...... Lunch on your own in Bac Ha.
At 3 p.m, we will take another 3 hours hitting the road on the stylish Russian army jeep back to Lao Cai town for the night train back to Hanoi. Departs Lao Cai at 8.50 p.m and arrives after your sound sleep into Hanoi by 4.30 a.m. Please find your own way back to your hotel (taxi normally costs you a set of 40,000 dong)
